Mumbai. It truly is a magical city. You wouldn’t need to go anywhere else to experience the paradoxes that India is so famously made of. Every city possesses its own charm, some are blessed with abundant natural beauty, while others have been beautified by men and women. While some have the mighty Rajput stamp on them, others are known for their quaint old colonial charm. But not Mumbai. It is known equally well for all of the above! Some find the city daunting, some comforting. For some, it has been their home for generations , while others have made it their home just recently. This city means many different things to different people. For me, the metropolis holds romance and mystery in every street and lane. In this island city every man is an island, yet with several vessels connecting every citizen. This Indian economic capital has very rightly been called mayapuri, or the city of dreams. It makes as well as breaks several of them. The city where the country’s wealthiest and poorest happen to live side by side. The city holds opportunity as well as distractions. Of course, the city has been polluted and corrupted in many ways. But it still continues to hold a charm over several. They still yearn for the city, to make it bigger and better, in one way or other.
